Now you can see from this old 1940's picture what the original marquee looked like when the building was erected in 1927 ~ then there were shops and eateries included in the concept of the site ~ The new building will be self supporting not relying on donors constant funds ~ the businesses under one management will support the financial needs of the theatre and guarantee its individuality.
The Rebirth of the Historic
The Facebook page is attached to the main Davenport Financial Group Inc page ~ It was created to voice back to the building with no voice, no music and no dance. Our passion our purpose is to draw attention to the plight of this once beautiful theatre ~ Like the page follow the progress of bringing back the once again beautiful California Theatre of San Diego. The button on the bottom of the image will connect you to the page for the Theatre join the chorus of others who love this old building!
This picture shows the marquee that replaced the original in the 1960's ~ this one is considerably larger than the elegant original ~ bulky and heavy covered with neon it's a far cry from the one we will replace it with, the one it deserves. The streetlights will be re-wrought and the splendor of the fountains that were once ringing the building and all that made her great will once again grace the streets of our fantastic City!
On LinedIn we have assembled most of the team ~ the button to the left will connect you to our public profile with over 1,000 connections in the fields of interior design, politics, media, construction pros, Sustainability experts and more. Nobody on the profile was asked to connect for a numbers game everyone will be a benefit to the project or will benefit from being part of the project.
